Freelance Svelte developer
Svelte is elegant and a bliss to work with, and the more the state in your app is interlinked, the more it shines.
It’s the least effort to make things work. It feels like raw web programming with just a simple reactive layer on top that makes sense. Compare that to what has become of Next.js, where you need to adjust code in many different files to update a central store the official way, and it easily leads to spaghetti code.
I needed a stairs calculator for myself and built trapcalculator in Svelte in a few hours (before the AI coding era). A lot of variables reacting to each other is super easy in Svelte. In React this easily turns into a nightmare.
It is way more performant too, because there’s no client side interpreter that needs to load first, like React and Vue have.
Svelte is my #1 choice of framework for a web project.
Technologies
Selected work
- Guidesty: group travel planner
Guidesty is a cooperative travel planner where a group of travellers can build an itinerary, vote on ideas and split the bill. I founded it with my longtime friend Mohamed and it's under active development.
- Kwantor: employee participation, funding rounds
I led development of Kwantor’s participation platform from 2022. Now it runs funding rounds, and my part is the money: held until a round is funded, then released or refunded.
- Multihaarden: fireplace webshop
I built Multihaarden’s storefront, API and editorial tools from scratch: a media-rich fireplace shop that scores 100 on Lighthouse, ahead of all its competitors.
Working together
I work from Zaandam, next to Amsterdam, in the Netherlands. Tell me what you want to build, what already exists and where you are getting stuck. How I work.
